“Can success change the human mechanism so completely between one dawn and another? Can it make one feel taller, more alive, handsomer, uncommonly gifted, and indomitably secure with the certainty that this is the way life will always be? It can and it does.” By Moss Hart.

The new entrepreneurs going out on their own today are like us, a new breed who are faced with making up their own rules and discovering their own new and definitely different ways of earning a living.

When I started having the feeling of being on my own, to be sincere with you, I had no intention of becoming an entrepreneur or starting a business per say. Simply I wanted a better life. And was amazed how the quality of my life improved both financially and in learning about my career as I practice without ceasing.

This happened immediately I was out there on my own as I have wanted to be.

Surprisingly I had time for my girl, others and most importantly for my routine exercise. Drastically my stress level went down. Linearly without stopping, however, I realized that in my search for a better life I had unknowingly become entrepreneur…..these are people who, as the dictionary reminds us, have created a commercial endeavor that requires considerable initiative and risk!

Originally, I was not the classic entrepreneurs like; Dangote of Nigeria, Henry Ford of USA or even the next Adenuga of telecommunication.

I was not like todays high profile entrepreneurs like; Gates, Donald Trump. I was ever ready to take the initiative, was not interested in taking risk. Nor did I want to build an organization.

I Kingsley Anyi, had already been in the entrepreneurial business of blogging, web development and internet marketing, all these enabled my skill of writing to emanate and get show-cased before individuals who needs it to get their problems solved.

I have not worked for any organization, which I do not fancy doing.

Do not want to duplicate the experience of my parents as employees.

I wanted a financial comfort and security of a good job along with the independence which is most crucial, and at last, the freedom of being my own boss doing work I found rewarding to humanity and living life more on my own terms.

ARE YOU AMONG TODAYS INDEPENDENT WORKERS: a new breed of entrepreneurs?

Let us start with the CLASSIC ENTREPRENEURS, they loves the business of business. He or she must have had a hair dressing salon or run a small business while in college to help pay expenses.

For this kind of entrepreneurs called classic entrepreneurs, business is like a game where money is the scorecard.

They move from venture to venture, loving the business of doing business. If you are reading this article, chances are that, you do not belong to this kind of entrepreneurs. You are probably one of the emerging new breed of entrepreneurs who like us, are setting out things on their own to be able to get greater control over their lives, to definitely work on their own ideas in their own way.

Many of these are women and men who wish to earn enough to have a good life and standard living and still be at home to take care of their home and raise their children in the family way.
While others are seeking a viable way to stay in or move to a reliable destination in pursuit of their career, these new breed of entrepreneurs see being in business more as a means to an end than an end in life, And for this reason, they are regarded as PROPRENEURS…. These are individuals who engage in business not for its own sake or for the profit per Se, but for a serious purpose beyond the enterprise.

PROPRENEURS are individuals who want to create a livelihood for themselves, that will enable them to do more meaningful work, enjoy life most while doing what they enjoy doing best, and finally do it the way they want to do it.

Mostly interested in doing the work of their business than in running a business, here are some examples. Linda Ikeji, Chinua Achabe, Kingsley Anyi and so many others I cannot mention their names here.

In the real sense, PROPRENEURS see business as to truly excel in the carrier they so much loved.

Are you among the propreneurs and I know you should be? So, working from home is your next venture. Eventually you will define your freedom and escape the stress of running the rat race only to work in other to pay bills.

What Our Trainees Say

Victor Nwachukwu:
What made me to pay in money into afridigit account was because; he is out to say the truth where necessary. I met afridigit in one website called Nairaland, there most internet Gurus say a whole lot of things that are too good to be truth but, his own narration was different and caught my attention quickly, this made me to deposit money for web programming without seeing him physically. Today, am happy and still learning from Afridigit.

I met Maduekeshi Iheanyichukwu at the hospital where I was attending to my sick brother. He was alone and had no help due to his wound, I started helping him out and one day, he introduced me to web programming and was training me without yet recovering. After the training, I was incorporated into the company as a co-founder. Today, am happy for being among the afridigit innovators.

We started this free computer literacy program for three years now and since then, things have never been the same. We gather resources for this training through our professional trainees and re-invest it into these rural community schools.

We are out for sponsorship from organizations or individuals, recently, Enugu S.M.E. Center declared interest in assisting us accomplish this aim.

Sincerely,
Afridigit.

Through our program known as: SCHOOL COMMUNITY ACADEMY, many rural children in community schools are now conversant with computers, instead of learning it on the chalk-board alone,
We need organizations & individuals to support this trend.

Afridigit has been using her little resources to better the lives of these rural community schools, why not join us in this trend to catch them young?
Individuals & organizations should buckle-up to this developmental process.
